Evaluation Question 6

Evaluation question 6

I have learnt a huge amount whilst constructing my magazine, for example manipulation Photos to the way i want them perfectly on Adobe Photoshop, making real life double page spreads and capturing priceless knowledge on Adobe Indesign.

I have also learnt and experienced Blogger.com for the first time ever. I had never heard of Blogger.com and i had never used a blog, i had never even visited one before. So for me to be producing work on Blogger without any experience, i ma very proud of myself.

I have learnt many things on Adobe Photoshop whilst producing my front page and my contents in it. Even the most basic types of Photoshop are new to me, for example making a canvas transparent instead of white so it looks a lot better on a page, without a large white border sticking around on it! Other new learning points for me include, making a model on the photo look absolutely stunning and perfect by smudging out spots on there skin and burning parts of the skin, to make it look they are tanned. Other new learning tools include the way to make an actual image look a lot more professional and a lot better. By using such effects as a drop shadow, it simply puts a dark shadow on the photo, and you can adjust where you want the shadow, if you want it higher, lower, darker and lighter lighter. Another effect i used and i learnt was a inner shadow and an outer glow. These two effects also sum up what the effect does, the inner shadow simply puts a dark shadow inside the picture, and again you can tweek what you want done to it, for example darker or lighter. The outer glow also does what it says in the name, it puts a light or bright coloured fading glow around the border of the picture i used yellow for my pictures, but you can change the colour.

Indesign is my least favourite programme to work with, i think this is because we haven't really worked with that much. So when it came to producing the double page spread on Adobe Indesign i found it quite hard. I didn't understand the layout, just because i was used to Adobe Photoshop, i couldn't find text boxes or even where the effects were placed on Indeisgn. But after working on it i soon picked up what every did and how it all worked. I learnt wonderful skills, that famous music magazines show in their magazines week by week without fail. I learnt how to text wrap a piece of text around an image or around a heading or even a quote from the artist. Please click on the image below and to the right to see the wonders of Photoshop!
